About Jane:

Jane spent much of her former career working in the education sector, gaining undergraduate and post-graduate degrees in teaching and learning. During this time, Jane worked in various education sectors including mainstream schools and colleges. Jane also worked as a management consultant for blue chip organisations, delivering training and recruitment programmes. Jane has undertaking training for for local authorities, adopters, foster carers and other professionals.

Before setting up her own therapeutic practice, Jane worked for over a decade in a lead pastoral/safeguarding role for neuro-diverse young people and those with challenging behaviours.

Becoming a foster-carer and living with young people with traumatic life experiences, encouraged Jane to further explore therapeutic parenting approaches, and interventions.

Having already studied widely in the field of mental health, humanist approaches and counselling, Jane went on to study Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy with Professor Dan Hughes, and Therapeutic Life Story Work with Professor Richard Rose.

Jane set up her own practice, Therapeutic Support in Safe Hands, in 2016. This has subsequently supported many young people and their families with targeted interventions, and reimagining brighter futures.

Calm Sea

Testimony
from the Mum of a 10 year old (adopted) son

"I will never be able to thank Jane enough for acting as my son's 'personal detective', with her insight with being able to deal with such fragile circumstances and for her reassurances, not only for my son but also to myself. I thank her for understanding how incredibly difficult it was for me to allow my son into that dark place and come through the other side enlightened and in a protected environment.

I truly believe that this experience will continue to give him the confidence to ask questions; each question answered is one brick removed from the wall he built around himself.

We now have a child who feels more complete and less insecure about who he is and his place in the world."
