About Theresa:
Theresa's background is originally in marketing and she spent many years running her own business prior to adopting her daughter in 2010.

She is passionate about supporting children, young people and their families. As well as being an adoptive parent, Theresa has trained as a therapeutic foster carer, and has fostered children and young people of all ages as well as Mothers and baby care, for the past 15 years. She now offers therapeutic parenting training and support to other adopters. She has trained with Dan Hughes in Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP) and is a strong advocate for his PACE method of parenting.

Theresa's biggest passion is therapeutic life story work. She qualified as a TLSW practitioner, with Prof. Richard Rose in 2014, set up her own practice (Life Story Matters), and has been delivering this intervention successfully, ever since.
Theresa now supervises and trains TLSW students and is part of the TLSW steering committee - helping to ensure best practice across the UK and Internationally.

Theresa also has a BSc Psychology (Hons) degree.

Testimonial
From Adoption Team Manager, Adoption South East

We have commissioned Theresa to carry out Therapeutic Life Story Work with a range of children and their families and she has completed all to a very high standard. Theresa uses the Richard Rose model in her work which is a model we know has good outcomes and the feedback from our families has always reflected this.

Theresa has very high standards and her attention to detail is noticeable. She is thorough and considerate to both the children and their birth families and her honesty and empathy enable transparent working.
Theresa is a therapist who I would highly recommend, and her waiting list is an indication of the value of her work. Theresa is reliable, personable and has a deep understanding for this area of specialism.
